The environment where every Aftercare learner is nurtured in their learning and daily life.
- Available for Hendrik Louw Primary School learners from Grade RR to Grade 7.
- Monday to Friday 12:00 to 17:45.
- Security and safety are of the utmost importance to us.
- Nutritious lunch and water are provided in the Aftercare Centre, directly after school.
- Weekly menu, available on WhatsApp.
- Late afternoon snack: Cookies or sandwiches, fruit and cool drink.
- One treat per week, e.g. ice cream.
- No breakfast is provided.
- Monthly newsletter to keep you informed of our activities.
- Fun family gatherings, fundraising and End-of-year picnic.

CONSOLIDATION CLASS
After lunch, the learners adjourn to their respective consolidation classes which are handled by the Aftercare educators and staff of Hendrik Louw. Classes are kept as small as possible to ensure quality teaching and learning from which our learners can benefit academically.
Our Grade RR and R Aftercare learners follow a daily, hour-long enrichment programme.
No consolidation classes are offered on Fridays except during exam times.
STRUCTURED AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES
The learners are in the care of the Aftercare staff all afternoon and they are kept busy with fun, educational and productive activities. The learners do exciting activities:
- Reading
- Environmental activities
- Sports, games
- Fancy Dress and Concerts
- Arts & Crafts
- Skills development, such as sewing.
HOLIDAYS
Hendrik Louw Aftercare is open during holidays with no extra costs involved.
Holiday times are 07:15 to 17h45 every day.
TUCK SHOP
Tuck shop in only available on Fridays, after lunch.
WAITING CLASSES
We also offer a morning and afternoon waiting class.
The afternoon waiting class includes a meal at and is only for Grade RR – Grade 3 learners.
Times: Monday to Friday: 12:30-14:15
The morning watch class is a safe place for learners before the gates open at 07:00.
Times: Monday to Friday: 06:30-07:15
