DEVELOPMENT OF MOBILITY AND SKILLS (DMS)

Our Development of Mobility and Skills Programme (DMS) plays a significant role in the development of gross and fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and physical conditioning of all our learners.

All our Grade 4 to 7 learners participate in our unique DMS programme twice per week, developed by fitness instructor Mrs Tanya Nunn.

We observe numerous positive results in the physical development of our learners and focus on:

  • Strength and conditioning.
  • Strengthening through body weight exercises, without the use of weights.
  • Fitness activities presented with a variety of fun and informal competitions, keeping the learners curious and excited.
  • Skills and milestones to be achieved for each age group.

The DMS programme is designed to include easier options for learners with injuries and for those who are not physically able to perform specific movements.

DMS not only develops the whole body, but it also promotes social skills, decision-making abilities, endurance, teamwork, and discipline.
